A Conversation with Professor David Nott

We've been hosting a series of conversations here at St. Dionis.

Our next one will take place on Tuesday, 17th November where our vicar, Rev. Chris Russell will be speaking with Professor David Nott.

David serves as a consultant surgeon across London at the Chelsea & Westminster, St Mary’s and the Royal Marsden. Since 1993, he has taken unpaid leave from the NHS to work as a humanitarian surgeon, willingly entering the world’s most challenging environments to deliver life-saving surgeries.

His expertise in general, trauma and vascular surgery are vast, and he is widely recognised as the world’s most experienced war surgeons. He is also the co-founder of the David Nott Foundation (https://davidnottfoundation.com) which trains doctors in countries torn by war and disaster.

David is coming to share his harrowing but captivating experiences of operating in war zones, and how his Christian faith influences his work and decision-making.

If you want a taster, listen to David Nott’s Desert Island Discs – some say it’s one of the best episodes ever recorded: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/b07djzyq

Doors open at 6:45pm. There will be live music from 7pm alongside refreshments. The conversation begins at 7:30pm.
