An evening with Naz Shah MP
Naz Shah is an active Labour MP for Bradford West and author of Honoured: Survival, Strength and My Path to Politics.
Naz is coming to St Dionis to open up about her experience of forced marriage and domestic violence, her zeal for justice and how she found her way into politics.
In March of this year, she released her book, Honoured: Survival, Strength and My Path to Politics described as, "[t]he inspiring, moving and unflinching story of childhood violence, forced marriage, her mother's imprisonment, Naz's campaign for justice, her deepening Islamic faith and her extraordinary journey into Parliament. It concludes by describing the book as a story of "survival, faith and political awakening"—the making of an activist determined to speak out and claim her place in the world."
The evening will be hosted by The Lord Rook – an anglican priest and a Lord in the House of Lords.
Doors open at 6:45pm. There'll be a musical performance from 7pm. The conversation begins at 7:30pm.
