It's our commitment and our joy
We have five commitments at St Dionis, one of them is Children and Young People. Not only is it our commitment, it's our joy to serve children and young people. We will do all that we can to ensure we create safe spaces that help children, young people and families to thrive.
As part of this we endeavour to provide as much support as we can for children and young people with additional needs. If you’re a parent or carer of a young person with additional needs, please email tom@stdionis.org.uk so that we can work with you on how we can best support them.
We require a consent form to be completed to be able to join our regular activities and groups.
Sundays
We enjoy making church something to remember for a child. Full of fun, crafts, games, toys, laughs, bible, songs and friends. We realise that's a huge promise, but as we aim to help children and young people treasure God for the rest of their lives, we know that the times we gather together as children really do help to shape that.
At St Dionis Parsons Green there is something for every child at the 10am each Sunday. We have groups for children every week (other than the first Sunday of the month, more on All-In Sundays down below). You can check in for children's groups in church when you arrive. There are age specific plans and team for 2-4s, Reception-Year 2 & Year 3-Year 6. Currently Reception-Year 6 all meet together in the same room. Groups take place in the CAS Halls (a short walk from church) after our first songs of worship together in church.
Little ones (0-2s) are so welcome too. There is a space in church full of toys, bouncers, ball pits and tumble mats. This space has clear glass so that you can see through to the main church space, and has a speaker so that you can hear everything in the service. You and your little ones are so welcome in church for the whole service, but it is a space for you that can be used as and when you need during the service.
0-4s Stay & Play
0-4s and their grown-ups gather for a fun, free and friendly morning of play!
We'll get out the toys, ball pit, soft play, tumble mats and play kitchen. The tea and coffee will be on (we've got every tea variant seen on planet earth!), pastries will have been warmed and there will be fruit for good measure. All we need you to do is to bring your little ones and yourself.
Each Wednesday, St Dionis Church, 10:00-11:30am
Midweek Youth (Years 7-13)
We love to gather together as young people at St Dionis from across Parsons Green, Fulham and SW6. We gather together to treasure God, have fun, realise our identity, influence society, value all and emulate Christ. We meet in Church and up in the POD – (that's the bit above the kitchen). We really should call it the Young People’s POD.
We meet for food, table tennis, uno, jenga, dobble, grabolo, Mario Kart, FC26 (formally fifa), bible study, prayer, time to catch up, space to have a laugh, making some memories, making a mess, developing our relationships with each other & God. (Not promising we’ll do all of these things each week).
If you're in school years 7-13 we hope that you’ll join us. If you’d like to come, we’ll need a Consent Form filled in (look for the bright orange buttons at the top of this page)
Don’t worry if you can’t make Tuesdays, we will also have our Young People Sunday Socials (keep scrolling for info on those).
Each Tuesday, St Dionis Church, Years 7-13, 17:00-18:30
Young People Sunday Socials
Hopefully soon we'll come up with a more catchy, pithy name for this. If it was Sunday Night after church we could call it SNAC, but, we meet around lunch time.
It does exactly what it 'says on the tin', we meet as a group of young people in school years 6 - 13 on a Sunday after the morning service for a couple of hours. We eat some food together (usually after we've made it together, like our sushi social or our pizza making social) we get out the table tennis tables and games consoles.
Our Youth Sunday Socials are a great chance to get together for those who are involved across our schools work, midweek youth, Sunday services, those doing Duke of Edinburgh or trying out Youth at St Dionis.
Messy Church
Messy Church welcomes all ages and is especially suitable for children. Expect lots of hands-on activities, crafts, games, a short talk or story, finishing with a meal together. There is something for everyone.
We have a number of Messy Churches throughout the year, including at Easter and Christmas. Click on the button below for information on the next Messy Church and to register to join us.
All-In Sundays
On the first Sunday of the month, we gather all ages together at our 10am service (the 8am and 5pm continue as normal). We stay together for the whole service, which is usually around one hour long. There are songs of worship, a short interactive talk and a chance to pray together as a wider family. The 0-2s area is set up as usual with all ages and stages included and involved.
