Get Connected

If you are new to the church, there are a number of ways in which you can get more involved and begin to feel connected. Pick up a Get Connected card at the back of church, fill it in and hand it back. We will get in touch and help you to get connected. The next newcomers supper is on Thursday 10th November at 7:30pm in the Vicarage. Give Tim a call if you would like to come along.

Small Groups

The second step is sign up for Alpha or to join a midweek House Group, whether it is during the day or in the evening. We have found that it is in these gatherings, comprised typically between 8 to 12 people, that real friendships are formed and true discipleship takes place. House groups allow time each week to express worship to God, nurture friendship, feed on the Bible and spend time in prayer. House groups organize social activities and fun events as well.

Give Financially

Fourthly, we recommend that, as part of the commitment to serve in some way, you commit to give financially to the life and work of God’s kingdom as it is expressed here at St Dionis. There is a leaflet - Giving to God, resourcing his Church - at the back of church which sets out our understanding of this subject. There are gift aid envelopes in the pews and green Standing Order forms on display at the back of church.

Sundays

The first step is to come to church regularly on a Sunday. Our Bible teaching usually follows a series each term and there are full crèche provision and children’s activities each week in the main morning service. You will recognize and meet people much more easily if you are able to come regularly.

Serve in some way

The third step is to look to help out at church (volunteering) or serve the local community in some way (RAGs). We believe that our lives here truly begin to make sense once we commit to giving ourselves in some act of service. We offer our lives as a response to God who, in Christ, gave his life for us. The Get Connected sign up sheets at the back of church have more information and some suggestions of ways in which you can get involved. Or better still, come and tell us how you would like to get involved.
