Weekend at Home

Our recent Weekend at Home, along with the Fair on the Green three weeks later, sums up what we believe God has called us to be and what he has called us to do as a church.

The weekend at home welcomes everyone in - this year we had a pub quiz and live band on Friday night; and a practical and entertaining talk on Saturday morning given by Phil Wall, who is Chief Executive of HopeHIV and an executive life coach.

St Dionis beat All Saints at cricket again (!) and the children competed at the 'mini olympics' along side the cricket pitch in South Park. For those less active the classical concert & afternoon High Tea in the church was arguably the highlight of the weekend.

About 90 people agonised over England's draw with the USA in the World cup on the big screen in the church - at least the hot dogs and cool beer eased the woe!

After the all age celebration service in church on Sunday, everyone piled into the vicarage garden for a BBQ and ice cream.

The Fair on the Green encourages everyone out - to love and serve the local community inspired by God's love (see Fair on The Green, under events)
